Heat the Tar & Pluck the Hen … it’s Washboard Hank & Reverend Ken!
Hank & Ken started their musical careers as ‘Street Musicians’, hitting the streets with home-made horns and instruments way back in the early 1970’s. With a ‘larger-than-life- musical comedy show. T hey lived a hand-to-mouth Keysian/Steinbeckian life travelling the Southern U.S. Bible Belt. They were musical panhandlers living in an old Ford pickup truck travelling from Toronto to Vancouver, San Diego to San Francisco – Memphis to Nashville. Hank and Ken were always just one step ahead of the cops. Their subsequent ‘Lost Followers’ band disbanded 30 years ago & since then Hank & Ken have taken their own separate musical paths.
On Saturday October 19 the Arlington Hotel in Maynooth Ontario presents:
Heat the Tar & Pluck the Hen
It’s Washboard Hank and Reverend Ken recreating their hilarious rootsy 1970’s street busker duo. The musical princes of spontaneous combustion were sometimes known as ‘The Duke of Washboardom and the Parson of Panhandledom’.
They will be joined by Hank’s band ‘The Wringers’ on stage – so come on out and have a real Party!
