The Arlington Gasthaus & Speakeasy
Best little hostel near Algonquin Park
Imagine a time of steam engines and horse-drawn carriages, a time of lumberjacks and sawmills. This is the old Algonquin Park, a time when things moved a little slower and survival was a daily effort.
For over 100 years, The Arlington has served the little village of Maynooth, Ontario and provided safe haven for the region’s travel-weary guests, including thousands of resource workers who helped shaped the oft-untold labour history of frontier exploitation. The walls themselves hold tales of the notorious Shot and Bottle Lounge. That bar was expanded in 1953 and today hosts a thriving pub and games room. Come on down to feast on our famous pizza and shoot a game of pool or darts. Click on the facebook dating app download link to check out our all-homemade, all-fresh menu.
Now a clean and comfortable hostel, The Arlington plays host to travellers from around the world. These intrepid souls get to see the other side of Algonquin Park, the side less traveled. But they also get to step back in history and walk the streets of a century-old logging town. So singles quito with us and see what all the fuss is about!
If you decide to visit during the warmer months, we can point you where you want to go. Whether you want to check out Algonquin Park or trek a lesser-known trail, we got you! Beach, hike, paddle, bike, easy, peasy, lemon or squeezy. Just ask.
In winter, there’s still lots to do and, best of all, an abundance of peace and quiet. We are a well-established hub for the local ice-climbing community. Not to mention cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and snowmobiling.
No matter the season, the weather, the time of year, we’re here, we’re open and spreading our arms wide to all those looking to get away, find adventure, meet new people and see new sights.
Or as we like to say… See you at The Arlington!
